After breakfast leave for Kandy\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visit the Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya<\/strong>, The Royal Botanical Gardens \u2013 147 acres in extent; Started in 1374
\nas a pleasure garden of the Kings of Kandy. There are more than 5000 species of trees and plants. Some rare and
\nendemics as well as flora from the tropical World. Spice Garden and Orchid House are popular with tourists.<\/p>\n

Kandy,<\/strong>\u00a0the last stronghold of the Sinhalese Kings was finally ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy is an example of
\nBuddhism\u2019s influence in Sri Lanka today. Temple\u2019s shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are
\neverywhere.In the afternoon commence a city tour of Kandy,\u00a0including Upper Lake Drive, the Gem and Museum
\nlapidary,Handicraft factory, In evening, see the Kandy cultural dancing show, and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth
\nRelic.<\/p>\n

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic,<\/strong>\u00a0Ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha\u2019s Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka
\nhidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orison princess\u2019 hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka
\nand throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka\u2019s most prized possession. Temple of the Sacred Tooth
\nRelic had been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO.<\/p>\n

DAY 02 \u2013 KANDY- MATALE \u2013 SIGIRIYA ROCK \u2013 BENTOTA<\/h3>\n

After Breakfast leave for Sigiriya.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After Breakfast leave for visiting\u00a0Hindu Kovil in Matale<\/strong>. Sri Muthumari Amman Hindu Kovil,\u00a0situated in the historic
\ntown of Matale is a very religious Hindu shrine in Sri Lanka. About 200 years ago this kovil was established by the
\nIndian Hindu community specially the South Indian traders who lived and did business in the town and in estates
\naround Matale.After visiting Sri Muthumari Amman Hindu Kovil, visit an\u00a0Herbal Spice Garden\u00a0in Matale<\/p>\n

Visiting a Herbal Spice Garden leave for Sigiriya & climb Sigiriya Rock.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site.\u00a0It is one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban
\nplanning. It is the most visited historic site in Sri Lanka. King Kassapa (477-495 A.D) who shifted the Capital from
\nAnuradhapura to Sigiriya made a fortress to surround his palace, which was constructed on the summit of a 500ft
\nhigh rock, with necessary facilities. The Palace was surrounded by an outer-moat and wall and Inner \u2013 moat and
\nWall,
\npleasure garden, Mirror-wall, light coloured and dark coloured damsel\u2019s frescoes, to cover the western wall and a
\nbeautiful staircase through the body of a Crouching Lion are some of the attractions here. The boulder garden
\nconsists of caves where Buddhist Bhikkus lived and meditated. After Kassapa Sigiriya was given back once again to
\nthe Bhikkus.<\/p>\n

Thereafter leave for Airport or the Bentota beach resort.<\/strong><\/p>\n
